AL-BAHRIAH INSURANCE & REINSURANCE S.A.L.
Al-Bahriah Insurance & Reinsurance S.A.L. was founded in year 1987 for the purpose of meeting
the demand of Hull Insurance. The name "Al-Bahriah" means "The-Mariners". This name was
chosen as a dedication to marine insurance. Since its establishment, Al-bahriah has focused on
most classes of marine insurance particularly emphasizing on hull & machinery.
GEORGE A LAMMAM - Chairman & General Manager
George started his career as a banker. He soon moved to the financing of ships in order to assist
Shipowners in increasing their purchasing capacity. Contributing to expansion of fleets, and having
dealt extensively with ship insurance matters, he founded Al-Bahriah Insurance & Reinsurance.
George has more than 35 years of experience in matters relating to bank management, ship
finance and Hull & Machinery insurance. He is the Chairman of the company. His activities involve
capital management, administration and control of claims.
NABIL G LAMMAM - CEO & Technical Manager
Nabil started his marine insurance career in 1992. Having acquired various maritime certifications,
he has a substantial knowledge in marine surveying, ship superintendency, maritime law and
marine insurance. Nabil is the Chief Executive Officer of the company and an active member of the
board of management. He is also an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
and the International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS). His activities involve underwriting,
reinsurance as well as claims handling and settlement.
